Not All Firewood Is Created Equal

    How It Works

    Frequently Asked Questions

Seasoned wood is air-dried for 6-12 months and typically retains 25-40% moisture. Kiln-dried wood is heated to 250ยฐF+ for 48 hours, reducing moisture to under 15%. That means kiln-dried lights faster, burns hotter, produces less smoke, and is guaranteed bug-free. It's a premium product at a premium level.

Yes โ€” every Wildman delivery includes professional stacking at no extra charge. We stack freehand or on your rack, rotate old wood to the top, clean up all debris, and cover your stack. Most competitors charge $100-$300 for this service.

We deliver across Greater New Orleans including Kenner, Metairie, Harahan, River Ridge, Lakeview, Mid-City, Uptown, Garden District, Mandeville, Covington, and the entire Northshore. Delivery is included in your order.

For casual fireplace use (1-2 fires per week), a Kiln in a Can lasts most customers 4-6 weeks. For heavy use, outdoor fire pits, or entertaining, you may want to refill every 2-3 weeks. Our Wildman Refill Plan makes reordering easy.

Oak โ€” The all-rounder. Long burn time, great heat, perfect for fireplaces and fire pits.
Mesquite โ€” Intense smoky flavor, ideal for grilling and smoking meat.
Post Oak โ€” The classic BBQ wood. Clean smoke, pairs with any protein.
Cherry โ€” Mild, sweet smoke. Great for poultry and pork.
Hickory โ€” Bold, bacon-like flavor. The king of smoking woods.

We offer next-day delivery on most orders placed before 2 PM. Same-day delivery may be available โ€” call us at (504) 874-2560 to check availability.

Absolutely. Our kiln-dried Oak, Mesquite, and Post Oak are all excellent for pizza ovens. Kiln-dried wood burns cleaner and hotter than seasoned wood, which is exactly what you want for high-heat cooking.
